Arie Luyendyk is best known for his sensational 1990 and 1997 Indianapolis 500 victories.

But throughout his distinguished career he has experienced success in many different forms of racing.

Suppose you are on POLE for the biggest race of the year.

But then it is cold, very cold and you don’t have tyre warmers like you do in F1. Oh dear oh dear. By the way, the foto is from Michigan and not Indy.

Amazing Michael Crash. Truely awesome.

The picture by the way, was taken when Michael Mario Andretti as his full name is, was starting from the front row for the 1987 Michigan 500 where Michael Andretti (#1 won from the pole for one of his 42 Champ Car wins.

I told you the safety car is a very dangerous creature.

This time we are lucky that the Americans use Big Fat Trucks to tow you to safety.

But look, even the ANDRETTI’S, yes both of them, got it very wrong.

Spectacular Indycar crash when the powers that be hadn’t split up into two insignificant series. They still had the best drivers, but this Belgium got it oh so wrong.

One of the most amazing crashes ever involved Katherine Legge at Road America in the Champ Car Race in September 2006. That she walked away unharmed was truly amazing.
